Just finished reading ‘Storming Heaven – LSD And The American Dream’, and this new mix from Phil South of Golf Channel would make a perfect soundtrack to an afternoon into evening session. As Phil says, “best listened to with close friends, a fog machine, a strobe and very strong drugs in a remote place far from neighbours and interruptions. Phil South, as many of you know, is the head honcho of Golf Channel records, purveyors of modern twisted disco and balearic beats. Actually, talking of balearic beats and Golf Channel they are about to release a new record which is one of the best things I have heard in ages. Must be an old record but the people with the knowledge that I have asked don’t have a clue what it is. Anyway, if you see a new Golf Channel in the shops in the next week or so check it as it’s a killer. So here’s a mix from Phil live at Electric Elephant last year. Enjoy.

Party: Golf Channel And LN-CC Present…

This is a good one for anyone in London. On February 17th LN-CC welcome label owner Phil South and Ghost Note’s Anton Esteban for an evening of music in LN-CC’s club space to celebrate the launch of Ghost Note’s latest release, “Ghost Note II – Kapwa/Abularyo”. From 7-9pm, will be screening a short video made to accompany the Ghost Note release.
In addition to the screening, LN-CC will be selling advance copies of the latest single exclusively in store. From 9pm onwards, Phil and Anton, the duo behind New York’s celebrated “No Ordinary Monkey” party (alongside Carlos from influential label “Whatever We Want”), will both DJ in the LN-CC club space.

Golf Channel has quietly got on with being one of the most interesting labels around. Run out of NYC by Phil South, it’s delivered time and time again and is shaping up to have it’s best year yet. Head honcho Phil has delivered the first of a run of mixes for us and here it is. In Phil’s words, this one is ‘best enjoyed in front of a nice view on a hot day with a cool breeze… Special thanks to Tako and Jason Kincade for turning me on to a couple of the records’.
